While The Woo serves as our home base, our work also moves beyond its walls through pop-ups, collaborations, and temporary activations across San Diego.

VIVA LA RAZA - 2026 Exhibition
As we close ¡VIVA LA RAZA! Reflections on San Diego’s Chican@ Movement: Past and Present, we’re reflecting on what this exhibition meant to us.
Our first multi-room exhibition of 2026, VIVA LA RAZA brought together archives, photography, art, film, queer Chicanx histories, and stories from across generations—creating space for San Diego’s Chicano history to be remembered, shared, and carried forward.
Opening just ahead of Chicano Park Day felt especially important. In Barrio Logan, this history isn’t distant—it lives in the streets, the murals, the families, the artists, the organizers, and the people still shaping this community today.
Across the exhibition, we honored movement history through Aztlán Libre and Aztlan Archives, touched upon Queer Chicanx histories with Lambda Archives, documented a changing Barrio through Manuel Ceniceros’ Aquí Seguimos: Before It Changes, celebrated the work and legacy of BRISK ONE, and brought the a special screening of ASCO: Without Permission.
Past and present, archive and living memory, all under one roof.
